Hello Divas,Its weekend and every woman wants to make sure that her weekend away with her boyfriend is special and one way to do that is to buy a special piece of lingerie that you can model just for him but what happens if you get it wrong. If you buy the wrong piece of lingerie, it can turn a great weekend away to a break-up party.Lol

The key to buying lingerie for that weekend away, is to be sexy without being salacious. Most men would rather see their girlfriends comfortable and their bodies accentuated in the right lingerie, than looking cheap and nasty(Ouch).I guess we have all seen the revolting lingerie from some of the cheap adult movies, but in reality couples don't want that experience. Not if they want their relationship to last.

When choosing the piece for your weekend, you first need to work out whether it will be a piece you are going to wear out to dinner, a piece you will put on prior to retiring to bed or something you will surprise him with in the morning.

The most common type of lingerie that couples select for their weekend away for dinner is a nice sexy bra and panty set. If you are buying your lingerie for dinner then the two best colours to wear are either red or grey. The setting you are going to be in will depend on whether the bra and panty set come with suspenders or not. It is recommended that if you are in a formal dining environment in the city then suspenders are a must including stockings. If your weekend away is in the country, than a nice pair of jeans that suit your lingerie would be more appropriate.

Always make sure that the lingerie suits your outerwear. There are many nice sets of ruffle bra and panty sets but they wouldn't necessarily work with jeans. A flat style of lingerie would be more suitable.

If you are buying lingerie for retiring to bed, then satin is always the best way to go. What you buy is dependent on your goals. In a colder climate satin or silk long pajamas in either red or purple are the way to go with a long matching gown and matching g-string, thong or panty.

Remember the key with lingerie is that less is more. To make your weekend more exciting then slowly reveal what you are wearing. If your weekend away is in a warmer climate then a satin stretch sleepwear dress would be more appropriate with matching panty.

When choosing day lingerie, the really cool way to surprise him is to choose a piece that can be worn exposed. A nice external bustier is one way that you can achieve this. Alternatively, you can wear a buttoned shirt that part exposes the bustier or even a nice quality bra.

Your weekend away is about you feeling happy, healthy and sexy all weekend, so the pieces you choose should always reinforce this outcome. Never buy a piece that you will feel uncomfortable in because he will pickup on that discomfort. At the same time, you want to express your femininity to him as well, because there is nothing more exciting than a weekend away, so it should be special.

5 Tips you should know when you are buying a Lingerie

Over the last five years in Nigeria, there has been an explosion of lingerie stores (both online and physical stores) We have seen many new players like fashion models, actresses and socialites develop their own brands of lingerie and flaunt them in the market place; however this has created challenges for women in choosing the right type of lingerie for their body.

There are five key tips you should consider when looking to buy ANY lingerie.

Tip 1: Check the Sizing for the Lingerie
Most lingerie stores will not allow you to try on their lingerie and this is often due to hygiene rules.Most especially if you are buying online,there is no way you will check to see if its your size.Therefore it is very important to carefully check the sizing of the lingerie.
Contrary to popular belief, there is no single standard for lingerie measurements or sizes but there are things you can do to decrease the chance of buying a piece of lingerie that doesn't fit. Most designers when creating their lingerie range will in fact develop a sizing scale for their range. The sizing scale will tell you how to measure yourself and where to measure yourself for the best outcome.
Many clients become concerned about buying lingerie online, however you will find that those stores usually have the sizing
information easily accessible compared to physical stores.


Tip 2: Check the Fabric Type of the Lingerie
Fabric type is one of the critical choices any women can make. When looking either online or in a shop check to see what the fabric is made of and the style. Often products that are marked as OS (one size) are often made of very stretchy material which can be easily torn.
Other fabric styles, especially some made of pvc can also be very uncomfortable on some skin types. Before buying any piece, check on the internet by visiting some of the online forums and newsgroups and see what people have written about the garments you are going to purchase.


Tip 3: Check the Returns Policy of the Store
Most lingerie stores in Nigeria have a no-returns policy for lingerie or underwear unless the item is faulty. This is primarily due to local health regulations that prevent them from re-selling the item. There are some online stores that do accept returns even if the item doesn't fit so before buying any item from any lingerie store check their returns policy.


Tip 4: Choose a Piece that Compliments Your Body
When a man is buying a lingerie for his woman, One of the biggest mistakes they make, more than ladies is to purchase a piece of lingerie that doesn't compliment the body. For example if you were buying a piece of lingerie for a plus size lady, it would most likely not be appropriate to purchase a g-string or thong for her. Most large ladies don't like this style of underwear as it often means the thighs rub together whilst walking.Lol

If you are buying online,always try to find pictures of a person similar to your size wearing the piece of lingerie. For example, if the picture you see on the screen is of a size 0 model and yet the piece is for a plus size person, then most likely the piece won't fit correctly.


Tip 5: Choose a Striking Colour
When choosing a colour think carefully about when you are going to be wearing the garment, for example, is the garment for a romantic night in, for a special cocktail party or for something you will wear in combination with other clothes. If you are having a night in with your partner then bright red is a great colour to wear however, if you have red hair or red weave on, this is NOT the best colour.
